Our founder, Rajen Gandhi, has always been deeply drawn to wildlife and immersive travel experiences that go beyond the ordinary. He set out to plan a travel experience for his family and friends in one of the world’s most iconic wildlife destinations- Tanzania. What started as careful research into an unfamiliar destination led to the discovery of Karibu Camps and Lodges and soon became a deeply personal journey. Set deep within national parks, the camps offered luxury at the heart of the wild—where giraffes, lions, elephants, zebras, and deer roamed freely, sometimes just outside the rooms. Thoughtfully designed lodges, personalized service, bush meals, and careful attention to individual needs created moments of rare comfort amidst untamed landscapes.
